Oh, COVID-19, you have come into our lives, and changed everything for this spring. Kayla and Brad were all set to have the dreamiest wedding day at Boone Hall Plantation on March 20. Unfortunately, the wrath of Coronavirus hit our area, and switched it all up. Kayla and Brad, the sweetest couple, decided they didn’t care, they wanted to be MARRIED already. So, they quickly gathered up their closest family, and their sweet daughter, Ava, and had the sweetest elopement at Hampton Park located in Downtown Charleston. I’ve done several sessions at Hampton Park, but never a wedding, so my photography mind was SO happy to get some gorgeous portraits for them, but my heart hurt that it wasn’t what they initially wanted.
I wasn’t sure how the mood would be when I arrived, but my anxieties went away when I saw everyone in full smiles, and open hearts. They were all SO excited to see these two get married, and the smiles on Kayla and Brad’s faces were completely contagious. My heart was equally full for them at this point, and I knew that all would be well.
Ya’ll, Hampton Park could not have been better for this elopement! Gorgeous oaks, a water view, the temperature was perfect, and the lighting was exactly what I needed to give them the gallery they deserved. After their quick ceremony, we trotted around to some of my new favorite spots in Hampton Park, and whew, they looked SO GOOD. Kayla’s dress fit her perfectly, and had the most stunning details, and Brad was the ever dapper groom, making sure to hold Kayla’s dress when needed, and he even became my new dress fluffer (I’m still recovering from back surgery, and avoiding bending over! Thanks Brad!!!).
Enjoy this sweet gallery and send them some cheer in your heart if you can. They are MARRIED, together, and healthy. We can’t wait to follow their journey, and hopefully redo it all again in the future – these two are stuck with me for life!
This just made me cry… these pictures are stunning! You are truly the best, we can’t thank you enough!
